Brussels Sprouts is one of the more nutritious vegetables in the cabbage, cauliflower and kale family. It is impacted with vitamin C, fiber, protein, sodium, iron, calcium, vitamin A, and very rich in daily dietary fiber (94%).
To cook brussels sprouts well is not to over-cook the vegetable, over-cooked the brussels sprouts can become slightly bitter in taste with a mealy and unattractive texture. We find the air fryer is a great avenue to cook brussels sprouts as the vegetable is cooked with circulating air, and using very little oil. When air fried, the brussels sprouts is both crispy and tender, with a sweet and slight mustard finish. All you will need is a sealable plastic bag, a little olive oil, some coarse salt and freshly ground pepper.

Ingredients
-
24 medium-size brussels sprouts (about 360g), stemmed and rinsed
-
1-½ tablespoons olive oil
-
1 teaspoon freshly squeezed lemon juiced
-
Coarse sea salt
-
Freshly ground black pepper
-
1 large size sealable plastic bag
Directions
Set “air fry” function to “A-6”; set timer to “7” minutes; set temperature at “350F”; place cooking basket in the middle of the air fryer when cooking; preheat air fryer;
Trim the back ends of the brussels sprouts, wash and rinse the brussels sprouts and pat dry;
Now place the brussels sprouts in the sealable plastic bag;
Now add the olive oil, the lemon juice; seal the plastic bag and shake the bag until all the brussels sprout are coated. It is always a good idea to coat the vegetables first, and then add the acids, such as the lemon juice;
Same as making salads, this way the acid will not “burn” the vegetables and change their appearance;
When the brussels sprouts are coated with oil and the lemon juice, open the bag and add the coarse and freshly grind black pepper. Seal the plastic bag again and shake the bag as before to mix in the salt and pepper;
Line the bottom of the air fryer basket with a piece of parchment paper;
Remove the brussels sprouts from the bag and place them in the air fryer basket;
Now place the basket in the middle of the air fryer at 350F;
Cook the brussels sprouts for 7 minutes and then remove them onto a plate or a bowl;
The texture of the brussels sprouts should be slightly crunchy with a sweet after taste;
Enjoy!
