Home-made fruit crumble is the ultimate comfort food, guaranteed to keep the cold at bay. In late summer and autumn, hedgerow blackberries are dark, juicy, and ripe for picking, so you can head outdoors to collect your crumble filling and feel like you’ve really earned that delicious treat.

Ingredients

9 oz / 250g of apples of your choice

3-½ oz / 100g fresh blackberries

2-½ oz / 75g sugar

1 tablespoons lemon juice

3-½ oz / 100g all-purpose flour

¼ cup of instant or rolled oats

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 oz / ¼ cup of instant or rolled oats

2 oz / 50g cold butter/ small cubed

Pinch of salt
Directions
Preheat the air fryer @ “ROAST” to 400F/205C with “CONVECTION” function.
Cut the apples into small wedges, immediately add the lemon juice and add 1-½ oz of sugar. Add the blackberries and mix together.
Add the flour, oats, salt, butter and remaining sugar with I tablespoon of ice water in a mixing bowl and mix the ingredients together to form the crumble.
Take some soft butter and grease the inside of a glass container or individual containers to make the crumble.
Arrange evenly the fruits on the bottom of the greased container. Place the crumble on top of the apple and blackberry mixture.
Cook the apple & blackberry crumble for 20 minutes. The finished crumble should have a light brown finish over top.
You can serve the crumble with ice cream or a Chantilly cream. Or, just enjoy it the crumble the way it is.
